Formed in 1978, the Bowhunters Association of Nova Scotia (familiar to bowhunters as B.A.N.S.) is the recognized voice of bowhunters in the province. B.A.N.S. is affiliated with the Nova Scotia Federation of Anglers & Hunters, is very active in lobbying government regarding wildlife issues, bowhunting safety and in promoting new bowhunting opportunities in the province.

A membership to B.A.N.S. will provide you with an opportunity to voice your input into these issues. As a member you will receive a B.A.N.S. crest, membership card and a one year subscription to the B.A.N.S. Bulletin. This newsletter will keep you up to date on what is happening with regard to bowhunting in Nova Scotia, provide a forum for members to exchange ideas, learn new techniques and methods, and pass on stories. B.A.N.S. also hosts an annual shoot, "The B.A.N.S. Bang-Up", where bowhunters can come together to shoot 3-D and have a great time meeting other members from across the region. These are just a few of the benefits of being a B.A.N.S. member.
